Simple one this one.

Just name any mythological divine entity from any of the worlds religions. If you can say what nationality/religion and what he actually did, would be cool too!!

To kick it off: Zeus (Greek "King" of the Gods)

Sue
24-04-2003, 09:36 PM
Well you have your prioties right there. Girl thats the important stuff, *hmm what fantasy* See the link above Tanya Myths/Gods.

Spyone1 (Greg)
24-04-2003, 09:38 PM
Yeah, what fantasy, Tanya. Scifi/fantasy is my favourite reading material. I have about 600 or so books at home, about 85% would be those two genre.

Buttonpusher
24-04-2003, 09:47 PM
Had a quick sticky, now I am really going to find that book.

John Norman the Gor Series
David Eddings:
Anne McCafery:
Joe Devers: Lone wolf series
Doc Smith: Lensman
Weis and Hickman
Julian May
Jean Aul
Peter Valentine Timmet
plus lots of others

Spyone1 (Greg)
24-04-2003, 09:53 PM
I have the first four of the Gor series still, got rid of them eventually. They were too sexist, even for me!!!

I don't have all the others..Joe Devers I haven't heard of.

Have you tried David Gemmell yet?? Some of his stuff is really good.

Buttonpusher
24-04-2003, 10:02 PM
He was one of the others and as for Gor where is your sense of adventure I have 23 from 25 can't afford the other two yet $100 each [ouch]
Joe Devers is a good writer though not well known his lone wolf series is the one I collect but can be hard to get but worth the effort.
Can't forget Ron Hubbard, Frank Herbert,Nevada Barr or CJ Cherryh

Spyone1 (Greg)
24-04-2003, 10:15 PM
Oh, I read the lot...just didn't like them really after about the first 6 or so.

Ron Hubbard, ditto. Read the entire Invasion: Earth (I think it was called, from memory) but then got rid of them.

Frank Herbert...love 'em. I have the Dune mini-series on DVD and am about to get Children Of Dune mini-series on VCD.
Also have the prequels to the Dune series as well.

I like Issac Asimov, Gordon Dickson, Larry Niven, people like that for pure sci-fi. You mentioned most of the ones I like for fantasy....although there are dozens more I can't bring to (lack of) mind right now.

Sue
24-04-2003, 11:50 PM
