Windows ME is absolutely the worst Operating System to run our games on. The error you have described has been encountered before, but only on machines which have been running Pokie Magic games for days on end before the error appears.
All we can recommend in this instance is to reinstall Windows ME from scratch, as its likely this is the only method of resolving the issue.

Liz, have you done a system update at the microsoft site lately? as i am running windows millenium and since doing an update few months ago i havent had any problems running pokie magic games. So maybe try that or the fresh install like admin mentioned.

thanks for the warning, Admin. I was about to bounce my Win98 Celeron 600 to WinME, but now I think I'll just leave it alone.

We still highly recommend Windows XP as a platform for our games. It runs very well indeed.

Greg dont ever go to Win ME!! thats what im using, although i dont have probs with pokie magic games i have many many many other problems, win 98 2nd edition is by far the best. Have a few friends on XP and they rekon its terrible also.

Nah, don't agree. I run WinXP Professional and I swear it is the best operating system by far!!! Own 98, 98SE, ME, 2000 and XP and have had them all installed. XP is by far the most stable in my experience.
98 is the worst so far....but if Pokie Magic wont run on ME properly, I will not bother.
Hey you guys, my darlin little dell is ME and she runs the games ok......

Bout time you upgraded that Dell Sue!
A bit less of the ol' leadfoot in the /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/auto.gif and a brand new Dell could be on its way /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dance.gif

Windows ME seemed to be more about marketing than anything. Windows XP I think is based on the NT/2000 kernel, which is considerably more stable.
Just make sure you install a firewall, as various bits of the operating system like to call home without notifying you first.

It depends. As I said, I own XP Professional. From what I hear, XP Home is not quite as good.

Hmmm. I've never had that problem, Admin, but I admit to having a fairly expensive copy obtained thru Microsoft themselves rather than somewhere like Hardly Normal or somewhere like that.
You are correct, XP is partially based on NT/2000.
