As you are all aware, there was some discussion about High Scores resetting recently. Most people were against a global reset.
I was wondering if the following suggestion would be acceptable to most people....and of course to the Pokie Magic team, who would have to agree.
IDEA:
If someone (anyone) gets to 5 million spins of a particular game without having a High Score in that particular game, they can elect to have THAT GAME ONLY reset.....
Okay....you guys take it from here...

First modification:
They cannot have HAD a high score in that game....
Admin, does our lovely young Xena keep records of everyone who has had a high score in a particular game????

Not a bad idea Greg if the resets must be done....I have been thinking about this recently and maybe a New Years Day reset each year may not be a bad idea... The longer we go without resetting the more likely people down the lists may lose interest in competing /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Bloody good idea, Paul!!! Sort of a New Years prezzie from the Pokie Magic Team.
Wish I'd thought of that...I would agree to that one, and I have three first places to lose at the moment.
Assuming, of course, the PM team decide to reset at all.

I agree Paul I have also been pondering this suituation.. a lot of new members might think the high scores are unattainable so a global resetting once a year.. maybe 1st of january each year would encourage more people to post their scores hence more people joining the friendly competition of the high score forum . I have 1 no 1. place worked hard to get it but if it benefits everyone don't mind losing it.. and you would then have 12 months to work on your score again, before another reset. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Unfortunately it is not possible to reset scores on a user by user basis (ie not on their local systems).
If the annual score reset is desired, we need to know NOW. Any later than the next day or two and it won't be possible for January 1 (which is a great date to reset on).
We would rather not reprise the earlier thread arguments, please simply indicate yes to reset or no to leave as is in reply.
NOTE: a new download for each game would be required, however it would be optional for those who do not wish to participate in the highscores.

No to a global reset. Would prefer a rolling reset if necessary, say one or two games a week starting Jan 1. That way, we aren't stuck with deciding which one of 30 games to play.

If the rolling reset idea works, start by resetting
the earlier released games.

Before the highscores get reset (if they do) id like to say Well Done to everyone who contributed throughout the highscores during the version 16 games. There were some incredible scores and looking forward to the next versions. Goodluck /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

If the highscores are only re-set once per year, then OK. But if the scores are going to be re-set because someone is throwing a /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/10tantrum.gif because they can't beat a score then no.

I believe the suggestion is to do a global (EVERY game) reset once a year, regardless of who has the high scores. The suggested date is 1 January of each year.

With ultrafast autoplay, the reset period will probably
need to be shorter. It won't take long before those
high scores are hard to overcome.

I agree with you Chuck.

i agree. Maybe twice a year then... on 1st January and 1st July, and set it to stay as that /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
I think they should get reset once or twice a year no matter who has scores...because it makes it alot more fun and also more encouraging for new buyers of the games to want to get involved instead of looking at scores they think they will never beat.
