While waiting for the high score reset, went to play some of the games in the 'old' way- which I define as before
'autoplay', high scores and ultrafast. In other words, I played the games by spinning - clicking on 'spin' or hitting the enter key. Also, I ran w/o ultrafast and
realized the enjoyment of the pokie game design .. whichever
game I was playing.
When running in autoplay, ultrafast- I usually didn't watch
the game run because it was so..fast and hard to track. Often ran in the background and overnight. Bottom line, I was not really playing the game, just triggering it to see
what new high score could be achieved. New game introductions only brought on a new high score challenge in
a different setting, didn't really pay much attention to the
game - its design other than to know what features and how
they paid. In other words, all the work by the Pokie Magic
Team is not really noticed other than as a means to a new
high score.
So,.. what? What if the new games after reset did not have
autoplay? High scores could still be sought, probably
not quite as high in some cases. In others, as the previous
round of high scores showed, luck plays a part in hitting
the right combination or mega-feature in the game, regardless of whether autoplay was used or not. We will
truly 'play' the games and see the particular design work
and can appreciate the games for what they are-not just a
means to a quicker higher score, but a creative pokie
to rival the real world pokies out there.
Ah, new years resolutions and all activate the thought
process of what games we play and why.
