At the moment I have two geriatric juvenile delinquent dog-people
1: TISHA a 13yr old mini foxie who was raised by a cat so of course she thinks she is a cat she even tries to purr which as you can probably imagine sounds really weird.
2: BOP a 9yr old mex mut who was given his name by the cat cause every time he walked past her she bopped him and that is true. Bop has brain damage from being in a severe car accident [his owners didn't survive] so we inherited him at 18mths.
Now this story follows when Bop first arrived he was badly abused by his owners adult son who took it out on him for the loss of his parents. We originally thought he was blue white and ginger but when his bruising faded he is just white and ginger. The day I rescued him he was being sold at a market tied on a very long rope nobody could get nearer to him than the end of that rope he was cowering fighting and trying to bite. Anyway I spent 3hrs getting to know him before he would actually let me touch him. I introduced him to Tisha who was with Peter at the time back at the van, she ignored him [for her that was good] Peter tried to touch him and got bit [not hard just cause bop was frightened]. At the end of the day andnobody had bought him the people trying to sell him came and saw me to see if I would like to give him a home which of course I said yes, Petersaid no and Tisha jumped back in the van [so much for that unamious decision]
When we got him home Tibby [the cat] promptly bopped him then started to bath him while holding him down [she did the same to the Shepards when I breed them] Tisha then decided he was a cat to so she helped. Peter still couldn't get near him so I to off the rope and said a pray that things would work out.
Bop [his name was still popsicle then] decided to sleep on Peters bed that night. Next morning after he realised Peter wasn't going to hurt him he tried to climb into Peters clothes with him. Tisha wouldn't play with him till he learnt to play like a cat. The silliest sight you have ever seen is two dogs rolling around like cats.
7 and a bit years later Bop stillget lost in the hallway and sits down and cries till someone goes and gets him, still falls asleep on his feet and still forgets what he is doing but he now weighs triple what he did and is happiest at lunch time when he waits till the last bite of the first sanga goes into my mouth then carries on like a lunatic till Peter makes the second sanga then carries on again till he goes and puts everything away. He may have failed the dog IQ test many times but he is not dumb just stupid.
