Admin, just wondering if there's a way that your most current ranking for a particular game can be shown individually on each game, perhaps on the Game Management Console where your stats for that game are. This would be useful so that you can see where you stand without having to go online each time. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

That would mean having your computer connected all the time to the Internet, or at the very least having every game scan the High Scores page every time you DO connect.
Admin would be able to say if it is possible, but for those of you with a dial up, it would be a royal pain.....

/webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wave.gif Hi Greg. What I'm saying is when you send a highscore to the website that it registers on your Game Management Console so that when you play without the Internet being on, that score shows up on the game to give you an idea of where you are on the ranking scale... it can be the last current score you posted until you get on the web again. Anyway, it's just a thought! /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Hi Sades
I see what you are saying. When you send a high score, it also keeps a record of what position that high score was in when you sent it..actually on your installed game....the next time you send a high score from that game, it updates your standing in the game on your computer as well.
good idea.
the only problem I have with that is that it would quickly become out of date, especially just after a reset...

That's true Greg but they really don't change that quickly, especially when you are playing a game that is ranked in the 30's or 40's zone. I think it would be really useful if it can be done. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

I have dial-up and had two games going through the night. Went to use the phone this morning and I was suddenly on the net. I checked with my ISP and I had dialed up six times in three hours.
If I have games going throughout the day and night, how do I stop it from automatically connecting up to the net??

Connecting to the net automatically has nothing to do with the Pokie Magic games, Peta.
I would suggest you check your Internet connection...it may be set to redial. Alternatively, you may have some software (not the PM games) that tries to access the Internet and dials if it is not connected.
For example, some virus detectors do it.
Another one (and you would need to do a virus scan for this) is that you may have got a virus dialler.... it is a virus that dials the Internet and then reports on your keystrokes, etc, etc. Ann would know all about those!!

I agree with Greg Peta, and would be very concerned. The games do not connect to the internet at any time without you actually forcing the action by clicking a button.
A virus dialler or other malware may be running up your phone bill to ridiculous levels and may also explain the other strange behaviour from your pc you have mentioned recently.

Thanks guys. Will check with my Telstra bill shortly to see if there has been an internet dialler. I have barred this service after my last debacle about eight months ago.
Will keep you posted!!
