Invisible Registered users

Just a thought that some of you might take into account.

When new people come on here and see so many registered users then go to have a look who is online they rarely see any names as so many of the registered users are invisible. Do you think it is encouraging others to join and post if they feel that people are trying to hide the fact that they are online.
I can understand the Admin and Moderators needing to be invisible but can anyone give me a good reason why everyone else does this /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headscratch.gif

Yeah but you are Admin Sue and that is something you need to do. As I said it is a nescessity for Admin and Moderators.

I just feel it is a sneaky way of spying on what others are saying without them knowing you are there /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif If you want to look then be proud of who you are and show yourself. Just my opinion /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif

Even if I werent an Admin Tanya I would be invisible..I am on other boards that this has come up ..and it does stir up folks on those boards as well..I dont think there is a right answer or wrong answer..just up to each person...

The other side of the penny is, that if you could see them and asked a question of them on the board or in a PM and they werent even there..you would be miffed...Like me just then, I had to go and pick up my daughter but didnt log off..

For me the answer is easy /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shh.gif Personal Preference /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif being on adsl have computer on 24/7 rarely turn it off /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif always leave forum page up on screen or minimised so only a click away when working on other projects. If my name was showing up on line 24/7 /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shh.gif think it would frighten everyone away /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif

since after 10 minutes of not browsing you become inactive - i find it strange ppl require to be invisible also tanya
