As a Poker Machine addict who has a problem, I would like to protest about you promoting gambling to children who play your games. With this new Maxi-Cash Linked Jackpot, who pays the money or is that also in fun. It is not fun in the real world at casino's and clubs. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif

Please note, Oscar56, these are GAMES, as mentioned numerous times on this website and in every single game when you install it you cannot play for real money. Its all virtual, designed precisely for those who do not want to lose real money.

/webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eviltongue.gif Good point but as parents we are responsable for what our children watch, see, hear and do so guide them along the right path and they will hopefully make the right choices. If not, don't play. This is all in good fun and my kids sure as hell don't play my games.Have a great day

I had my Grandson over on the weekend and he was not interested in the Pokie Magic site - he wanted to look at anything but. and I certainly wouldn't encourage him to play anyway.

These games are for fun and posting to the forum is stress relief (for me) - the figures we win are purely ficticious and are designed for our enjoyment - we know that we will never win the cash an have fun and banter with each other about who gets the highest "SCORE" - thats how we look at it

Well thats my opinion anyway

Just my 2 bob's worth....

Where are the games being promoted to children?

Oscar56 if you read some of the posts on the forum and you will see there have been quite a few people who say they have been helped with their problem on "real pokies" by playing these games..

I dont have a problem with pokies but I sure do think Pokie Magic games are fun..

This site is not in the general public's face with advertising like brewies and cigarette companies..I hope you are doing your concerned citizen bit about those hazards to children as well.

this site is for FUN AND FRIENDSHIP....my grandchildren will watch me play, but have not even asked to play, they love the different graphics of the games, eg presents opening, in santa surprise after about five minutes would rather watch a video....

/webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/HMMSMI~19.GIF Ian this post came as a bit of a shock this morning, I see you have been a member for quiet a few months, and having said this, you should know that no money changes hands on this site it is totally a fun site,If the jackpots did pay out Id be rich person /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif As for promoting the site to children /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/5Thud.gif once again I think youre wrong /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/poke.gif Sure kids will come across this site on the internet, but once again its up to the parents to provide supervision where and what sites their children visit. You will also note if you read some of the posts here.. several members also have had gambling problems,..and after finding this friendly site have kicked the habit..this is a supportive and fun site, so have to totally disagree with your suggestions

I agree. My partner and I are some of those people who have had a "problem" with the real pokies. This site and its fantastic games have helped us in getting over that habit. It was a fluke that I came across this site - so i cant understand how you think its promoting gambling to children. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/argue.gif

This is my two cents if it makes any sense
Who in the real world of pokie would gamble the ammount that's gambled here in fun on these games.
That's my say

That6s all I had to say....

As someone who has been with Pokie Magic since almost the beginning, I have never ceased to be impressed at the conduct of the Pokie Magic team who have provided a product that has assisted many to reduce their own expenditure in the sinister world of real life pokie playing.

The fairness and equity of how the games are provided and continually enhanced is amazing.

I have never seen these products promoted to children and if the parent has an addiction to the real thing for heavens sake go seek some help.

Don't hide behind some lame and pathetic stance that they are being promoted to your children when they are not.

Don't try to bring such a reputable site with an excellent community atmosphere into disrepute.

Your opinions are both ill-informed, unjustified and simply irrelevant.

I for one will read no more posts from this source.

Well said Paul.

I have never ever seen PM promote their games directly to children at all.

About the only thing that Pokie Magic have to do with children is on these forums...and that is to ensure that the public areas of the forums (ones accessible by Anonymous Logins) are suitable for children to read and view.

These games are like any other games for a computer. The onus is on the owner of the computer to regulate who plays with the computer and what games on that computer they play. This is NOT the responsibility of the game developers.

Thanks for pulling their teeth/access Admin. People like that start rumours that can snowball out of all control. We are better rid of him/her.

Yea good on you pm team, these games are fun and innovative, they're only going to keep getting better as well.

It's not like children get easy access to these games, (par the free spins which dont last long) it is then up to the PARENT to make SURE that they dont PLAY the registered pokie magic games.

nuff said, have a nice day. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I wonder if that wanker is protesting the sites that are designed for children that teach them how to KILL oponents and STEAL cars, or is he just targeting the most important thing like SUPPOSED encouragement of children to gamble after all we all know gambling is worse than Murder or Theft don't we. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/HMMSMI~19.GIF /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3doh4.gif
In all my time on this site one thing has been said over and over, open forums must be kept suitable for children who happen to stumble upon this site. At no time ever have I heard or seen anything that would encourage children to play these GAMES with GAME being the operative word.

/webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/15GDAY.gifTo everyone that posted back to our dear old mate Arsecar, oooops,I mean Oscar, good on you.I'm glad that we all feel as passionate as each other about our games and forums. This site and our games will continue to grow and get more attention from other people who surf the net for realistic pokies to play without losing thier hard earned dosh.I think tho that people like Arsecar, ooops I mean Oscar, are a rarity(well I bloody well hope so at least /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif)and he hopefully is the first and the last to attack this site.On that happy note,I have enjoyed reading all the posts on this subject and wish you all a Happy Pokie Night. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/MISSIN~18.GIF

Thanks Sharon - we are all passionate about our Pokie Magic GAMES - emphasis on the word GAMES - not REEL DEEL Pokie Machines - FUN, MIRTH and MAYHEM in the world of Pokie Magic - that is why we are here - not for the Financial rewards that we all knew when we purchased these GAMES did not exist.

Spyone1 (Greg)
29-07-2004, 03:16 PM
Would have to disagree slightly there, Shirley.

There are numerous people (some have posted earlier) who have had a significant financial reward with the Pokie Magic games.

They, as a result of playing these fantastic games, have managed to SAVE hundreds and hundreds of dollars by NOT playing the real money-hungry poker machines in clubs, bars, casinos and suchlike.

If this is a bad thing, then I guess I am all for bad things!!!!

Yep greg...im definately one of those people!! Since having these games the past 16mths i have actually had food on the table all the time and been able to pay some regular bills..... I just calculated something that is quite shocking /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hairaiser.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hairaiser.gif
If i didnt have the PM games and continued spending almost my whole wage every week on the real ones, over the past 16mths i would have spent $32,000 on the real ones /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/hairaiser.gif (gosh one time i even lost our entire savings 25,000 in a matter of 4mths on the real ones /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif).

So i can honestly say THANKYOU to the PM TEAM, these games truly did chance my life for the better, and for that matter...my family thank you too! /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissing.gif

As for being advertised to children /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif WHAT UTTER BS! but i think enough has been said on this subject so i'll leave it be.
