Hi everyone.

Its a girl. Katrina Ellen 3830gm (about 8lb 3oz), 50.5cm long (about 20 inches) and head circumference of 35cm (14 inches)

Born at 11:23pm on Mothers Day ... in the toilet at home. Literally.

Both Kim and Katrina are doing very well.

Story is as follows:

We went to the horsepittal at 7pm. At 9pm they told us Kim was 4cm dilated... Kim chose to go home.

At 10:50pm Kim was sick everywhere. She asked me (and eventually TOLD me) to go and get a lemonaide for her from the supermarket.

At 11:25 I got a call on my mobile (I was out getting the lemonaide) to get home NOW...Kim was sitting in the loo with a baby in her lap. My car really DOES do 140kph!!

Turned out she had a contraction, wanted to go to the loo, went and sat, heard a loud "pop" and Katrina appeared in the bowl!!

That's it!!

Bet Kim was scared about it all - how is she going? What she home alone or were others with her?

No, we had a friend over, he was asleep in the loungeroom and our 12 year old was awake. The 12 yr old heard Kim yell, woke the friend, then called the ambulance.

I think it happened so fast Kim didn't have a chance to be scared. She isn't even blaming me for not being there (ME blamed me, but she pointed out that she insisted that I go for the damn drink, so it wasn't my fault....I may believe her in 30 years or so!!).

Both Kim and Katrina are doing really well. They come home from hospital on Wednesday morning.

Yarsh. Kim made it with 37 minutes to spare. I don't know of too many people who delivered on their due date exactly...but Kim managed somehow.

I don't think he understands yet that this little person (who he has cuddled and kissed once) is actually going to be coming home with us.
He is still coming to terms with the fact that this person he knows as Mummy doesn't look the same anymore...he doesn't have to lean WAY back to see her face when he is hugging her legs!!
