Website Not Available

Morning all.

The Pokiemarshals website is, for some unknown reason, not available at the moment. I am trying to ring my ISP to find out why, but right now they are not answering their phones.

When I know what is happening, I will let you know.

My ISP is in the process of moving everything from one server to another. They have apologised (big deal...) for the downtime and will get my site back up as soon as possible.

FINALLY!!!

Four phone calls, two emails and 72 hours later....my website is back up and running.

Kim thought, during the last phone call, that I was about to jump down the phone and strangle someone....however, I was polite and didnt get agro over the phone. That gets you nowhere.

No, fortunately. It took 3 days with English speaking assistance. Goodness knows how long it would have taken if I had got an "Eengwish spreeking" tech support person.

I get home from work at 7:15pm on Xmas Eve......and my website is down yet again.

So I call my ISP....
"We have closed for the Xmas Season. We will reopen on Wednesday. We hope you have a safe and merry Xmas".

This probably means my website will not be up until Wednesday next week at the earliest. My apologies for this, it is out of my control.

Well, whaddaya know!! I confess to being somewhat impressed with the service!

The senior tech person himself was called in to look at my case, on Xmas Eve and all. My site should be fully and permanently up within 24 hours.

TECH DETAILS TO FOLLOW....DO NOT READ IF YOU DONT WANT TO!!

For some reason, my website name was dated sometime in 2745AD. When my ISP's systems went to update their servers during a server change, it was set to look at the date, and only update if the "at the time of server change" date was newer than the website date.
Of course, mine was not....and would not be for over 700 years....so my server was not moved along with all the others.
It is now fixed, and will take up to 24 hours to update world-wide.....after which it will be permanently fixed!! (It had BETTER be!!). /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
