New versions of games some users have been having trouble with are being released. First off the rank are Golden Dragon 6 SE and Hearts Desire 6 SE.

17.4.3.1 or 17.4.4.1 versions of these two games are now available from http://www.pokiemagic.com/downloads.php

- Your FIRST doubleups in the red/black screen will now count towards highscores.

Just downloaded GD6SE, in the golden dragon feture I noticed if I get one dragon on the last reel, it stays there for the rest of the spins? Is this suppose to happen?

Yes, it happens...have you noticed that the Golden Dragon does NOT appear on the 3rd and 4th reels while the free spin feature is on?

If you use the slower spin option, you'll see that the Golden Dragon appears on first 2 reels and end 2 reels. It just looks like it stops permanently on the last reel because it is going so fast... at least that's what it's like on mine.

Nope, was playing game on ultrafast+, when the golden dragon appeared at the end, I went to normal spins and for the 20 odd spins I had remaining, it stayed there each spin.

This is quite normal.

In regards to the Golden Dragon not appearing on the middle reel(s) - it is not supposed to.

You will find that it has a release date of 04.01.2004 which makes it seem not new. So I went by the version of 17.3 which seems to be the current one.

Hope this helps anyone wanting to update Safari 6 S.E.

Explanation of Safari Slots Version Number

17.3 is the current version
4.1 is the date of release.

Given that Safari Slots wasn't released until September 2004, I would hazard a guess that the release date is the 4th of January 2005.

After a complete reboot of my original system configuration and redownloading all the games, i am still haveing problems with safari 6 se as it freezes the system each time i try to open it. Its the only game i have had this issue with. The snowflake games are a little slow but still very playable.

The only changes are in the help files Chuck.

To actually answer the question: no need to download and install v17.6.1.6 unless you really want to always have the latest versions.

The new versions of Barons and Fruit Machine will go up today, we DO recommend you install them as some changes have been made to try and increase speed and compatibility.

Having problems.

Barons 5 - keep getting old version from download when installed.

Fruit 5 - after download and install, during startup, msg 'critical file is damaged, reinstall' .. the game starts but won't accept reg code w/o error .. something about a firewall.

Barons Bonanza 5 version on the server is up to date and correct, please try clearing your cache and redownloading.

The Fruit Machine 5 version was accidentally transposed - this version is not supposed to run on standard pc's. Please redownload now as the correct version is back in place.

ok no worries admin. I have to say that since i had to reformat and reload everything, the rest of the games are all running very well. Snowflake express games are running much better than they did previously and are not as painfully slow as before.

Speaking against the $$ instead of credits, the credits approach mirrors the real pokie approach. That way, a machine can easily be a 1 cent or 5 dollar machine.. the only difference being the amount of credits per dollar. I've always tracked credits not dollars. Since one of the virtues of Pokie Magic games is that no real money is won or lost, why encourage the attachment to the monetary value, rather focus on credits .. a non-monetary view.

Chuck, the psychology behind the real life "credits" versus "dollars" is that punters dont notice as easily how much they are spending if it is in "credits" rather than dollars. This has been proven over a number of years in the research done by the gaming authorities.

Additionally, the wins are "bigger" if you have your win displayed in credits.
(I know people who have got excited about winning 1000 credits on a 1 cent real life game, purely because they have won a thousand of something!!...even though that win is only $10.00).
This again is deliberate on the part of the real life pokie designers and producers. It is a subtle psychological thing.

With Pokie Magic not costing anything in real money terms, I am sort of leaning towards having the amount in dollars versus credits.
Speaking from a personal point of view, I can see how exorbitantly I am spending, (in Australia the maximum bet is $10.00 per spin on a standard real life pokie, with Pokie Magic games I can bet $200.00 or more!!), AND winning a jackpot of 10 million dollars is somewhat more impressive than winning a thousand million credits. (again, from a personal point of view).

I am always mentally converting credits to dollars on the Pokie Magic games anyway, when it is not displayed for me.

I really dont feel strongly enough about this to get upset or anything, especially right now. I just thought I would put my point of view up for people to agree/disagree with.

I have just downloaded the new totem 5 and also like the look of it. As with Spring Chicken, I'm also confused about the auto cutoff. Perhaps I can't see the forest for the trees !

A common issue has been identified - dollars vs credits.

We will make it so you can view either - but not both - at any time. This one setting will affect all sections of the game, including autoplay cutoff levels.

Only The Fruit Machine, Totem Treasure and Barons Bonanza will be affected.

If you notice minor flickering with the Alien games only when you first start the game, simply move your mouse to correct it.

The PM Desktop is now available in version 1.05 - Golden Dragon 7 now available from the desktop application:

All games except Totem Treasure 6,7 and S.E. have now been updated.

Totem Treasure 5 has been updated to version 17.7.22.7, changes:

Choosing the Run in window option from the left side sidebar will now restart your game and the new setting will take effect immediately.
A new option is available from the left hand sidebar: "Show wins in dollars". It should be enabled by default for Totem Treasure - and all wins will be shown in dollars both in the game and in your bank/options screen. If you turn it off all wins will be displayed in credits instead.
The autoplay cutoff options in the bank/options screen are also available in dollars or credits, depending on which you have selected as your default.

As has happened once before, internal mismatching may cause the installation of the abovementioned version of Totem5 to stop your other games from functioning.

To correct, please uninstall version 17.7.22.7 and install version 17.7.23.7 which is now available:

Shut down all PM games which may be running, then install the new version, then run it. When you first run it, press SHIFT and F9 at the same time. You will receive a message telling you the error has been corrected. All games should then operate normally.

If you did not at any time install version 17.7.22.7 then you do not need to follow this procedure.
