Our support email address is receiving a lot of virus infected email at the moment...which is no real problem at this end, but it means there are a lot of users with a problem at their end.
For more details on the virus in question, please see
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.sobig.b@mm.html
It is apparently a polite virus, and will stop spreading on May 31 2003, but you never know what is next.

Thanks Admin. I just had an email from one of our regular posters who has a problem that COULD be caused by a virus...it is replacing all the icons on her system with a single icon....and that icon changes every day or so.

Yes admin it was me who has emailed greg, but i very rarely email your support address, its either the registration one or your admin one.
But i have Nortons anti-virus 2003 with up to date definition files, plus did numerous online scans and came up with nothing /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
but i will go to your link and follow instructions there to manually check if im infected with that or not, and get back to you. Appologies if it was from me.
Oops just as i opened that link i quickly read how it mail itself out to all addresses in my puter and the support email addy is in my email address's, so i guess it could have done it itself. Will go manually have a look now.

Anyone who's using Norton's to scan for virus's...i would suggest you do a free online scan also..this is one place to do one... www.pcpitstop.com (http://www.pcpitstop.com)
I still use nortons as its included in my system works, but i always do an extra scan elswhere and in the past i have had virus's that norton did NOT find but online scanners did. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
