Bit hard that one..answer was nine
Here is a diagram of the troop:
F F F F F F J B B
Judy noticed that she and those behind her (3 total) made 1/3 of the troop (of 9).
F F F F F F (J B B) -- 3 / 9 = 1/3
Those ahead (6) made of 3/4 of troop (of 8, not including her).
(F F F F F F) B B -- 6 / 8 = 3/4

While driving home after a hard day's work, I came upon the following problem. An entire town had been painted black; the roads, pavements, buildings, hedges, and everything that did not move had been painted black. In addition, my vehicle's headlights were not working, no moon was visible, and power was off in the area, so there were no street or house lights around. At that moment, I entered a curve where a solid black dog (deaf, and thus unaware of the approaching car) was sitting in the road. He had his back to me, so there was not even a glint in his eye, yet I was able to swerve round him quite easily and without danger. How was this achieved?
It was daylight still and he could see the dog??

This one may be a bit of a long one, if it is, just post another teaser.
A man has to make a life or death choice. He is presented with two bags. One is supposed to contain a green grape, the other one a purple grape. If he picks the bag with the green grape, he lives....the purple, he dies.
There is a problem though. His enemies have made sure that BOTH bags contain purple grapes.
How does he manage to survive the choice?
(and no, he cannot refuse to choose, he dies if he does that).

*sigh*...........
:3rofl3::3rofl3::3rofl3::3rofl3::3rofl3:
Okay. The conditions of this puzzle are:
There are two bags
The bags, whatever they are made of, are NOT see-through
Each bag contains one grape
One of the grapes is SUPPOSED to be green, the other Purple
BOTH of the grapes are Purple (done this way deliberately by the enemies of the guy picking the grape)
The people watching him pick the grape do not know about Point 5, they think there is one of each colour.
If the dude selecting picks a Purple grape, he dies painfully and quickly
How does he pick one grape in such a way that he stays alive??!!
(Note: There IS a way to do it)
There are no plums, watermelons, wine, poison, colour-blindness or tricky "switch the grapes when nobody is looking" answers..
(although those COULD be solutions to other puzzles....keep 'em in mind).:3rofl3::3rofl3::3rofl3:
