Please check your pc's again for viruses/trojans. Although we use Norton Antivirus, it evidently let a virus slip right through. It seems it can only be detected by norton in a full system scan.

The virus is Backdoor.Lolok.B. Its a nasty one which allows full remote access to your pc.

To whoever was browsing our systems recently, please enjoy your stay in perdition.

I dunno. Virus codes can be downloaded in just about anything these days, and not all virus checkers do much about it.
I have several layers of protection on my computer, including sitting behind a Linux-style server/firewall, plus running Spyblocker and Stopzilla, then a virus detector and a separate firewall. So far (touch wood) nothing has come through, although I have had 33 spyware and 233 script attempts on my system, all from downloaded files or chat servers....all unsuccessful.

It will take me about an hour to scan my system (something to do with having 347,000+ files onboard) so I may be away for a while!!

No, Sue, just lots of games on my system, all with lots of files. Rise of Nations, Civ 3, Civ 3 Multiplayer, all the Pokie Magic games, Age of Mythology, Empire Earth and the expansion, The Sims and four expansions, yada, yada, yada....
My games directory alone is over 15 gig worth of files...then there is 21 gig of image files...and so on.

LOL....Images as in "Clone CD" or "Alcohol 120%" images, Admin. Copies of CDROMs (that I own) held on the harddrive in virtual CD drives for convenience....saves me having to change CDs all the time when I want to play a game that requires the CDROM to be in the drive.

And no, for those wondering, it is not illegal, provided I own the original AND I do not use the copy on my drive at the same time as the original CD.

For that matter, that applies to all CDROMs....if you OWN THE ORIGINAL (very specifically MUST own it) you can legally make a backup copy for your archives. This even applies to music CDs.

If any thing good has come out of this i have renewed /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/party2.gif my subscription to Norton Virus scan. So i will sit back and let them work it out.

/webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/15saywha.gif This could be a problem for me though /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headscratch.gif. I don't have Norton on my computer. I have VET and fortunately It hasn't detected anything for that matter.......knock on wood.

but I nor say nothing /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Golden116.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Golden116.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Golden116.gif
