If anyone wants to change the music in any of the games (which admin said is okay to do) here are a few sites that provide FREE midi's.........oh and it doesnt matter if they contain lyrics as it doesnt make the file any larger and they do work in the games as ive used them, just means if you have a karaoke player like van basco's on your puter they will work in that also....

1. http://www.lerenti.com/ekaraoke/karaoke.htm (<<got lotsa newer stuff)
2. http://www.ozma.be/files.html
3. http://www.vanbasco.com/midisearch.html (<<does a search for you to find any midi you want)
4. http://www.geocities.com/CollegePark/Dorm/4805/midi.html
5. http://laurasmidiheaven.com/Original/index.shtml

For anyone who has never done this before.... Download what ever midi you like by right clicking on the songs name and selecting "save target as", save it somewhere you will remember lol, rename the new midi to feature1.mid then go into your pokie magic games folder and remove the file called feature1.mid and replace it with the one you just downloaded and renamed. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It is no problem for end users to change their music provided that:
1. There is no redistribution of any game files in a package other than as originally supplied by Pokie Magic.
2. You *must* ensure that the music is:
(a) out of copyright or free to the public domain,
(b) that the performer (not the copyright owner) has allowed such use without charge
(c) that if the file(s) meet condition (a) that if condition (b) is not met that you have paid the performer for the use of the file.

Pokie Magic is not responsible for use of midi files changed by users. They will not have been tested by us, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Admin, what is the policy of using the midi files that are already supplied with the CURRENT Pokie Magic games??

Would we, for example, be permitted to use the Monster Money midi files from the current version on a later, musically generic version, or would that be in breach of copyright??

Just wondering...*innocent look at the ceiling*.

You can use whatever files you like as long as they were supplied *with the version in question*. If not you must retrieve files from other online sources subject to the conditions noted elsewhere on the board.

We no longer support or endorse versions prior to 14.5.
