When I was a wee lad, far too long ago to even talk about, but what the heck, amongst friends here, I used to collect stamps, Mum got me started with the fundamentals, it's amazing how something so seemingly boring, could captivate one so quickly and thoroughly, :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: :spin: , shows what I'm made of, Fruit Loops!!!! :D :D :D :D

After a few years I had a genuine collection, which was actually worth some money, don't ever know what happened to that collection, anyway about 20 years ago I started on a new project, Firt Day Issues, I know what happened to them, enough said about that, I am bringing this up as I was talking to a friend the other day who collects valuable stamps, he has one of those "Black Swan" stamps, worth something like $2,000.00, but you wouldn't pick him for it. :14hah: :14hah: :14hah:

Anyway that's my two cents worth!!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

Hi I had a stamp collection, I remember having a stamp with hitler on it. I properly had a stamp with a black swan on it too... as my step dad was a postman for 30 years:wave: :wave: :wave: I handed down my stamp collection to my children.

I also was a stamp collector!

My favourites were German and Mongolian stamps. Also Malaysian ones. Still have my collection at my Nan's I think. Would be interesting to know the value of some of them!

The only first issue I bought was the Australian rock 'n' roll collection. I also got the CD and a massive laminated poster. My dancing teacher had to go one better than me and got the framed set with the golden record in it!

Gave up after that!

It's amazing how we simply put some of our fondest memories on the "back burner", especially as at the time we were engrossed in them, I still have the Team Guides to all the Representative Rugby League I used to play, not my doing or a bragging thing, just that my mother was so proud of me she'd even take cuttings from the paper to store, I still have an Issue of the Original Program of the Great Britain team that toured here somewhere between, 1958-1960, that is something that Mitchel will gat when the time is right.

We are passing on HISTORY to our children and children's children, etc; etc;
