Im still having major problems with this website! /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif For the past 2-3 weeks it takes 10 just to get 1 page to load up. It starts loading and gets aout 1/4 of the way and then just stops dead and i have to keep hitting refresh a good dozen pages before the page will actually load up.
Im not having problems with any other online stuff, infact everythings running at good speed for viewing other sites. Over the 2-3 weeks i have also tried manually emptying my cache, history, cookies, temp internet etc and it hasnt helped /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shrug.gif
Its like something is kinda blocking me from viewing this site. Any thoughts on this?

As its gettin me seriously pee'd off. 1 in 10 times its okay but the rest it just takes for ever for me to post one reply let alone read the rest of the forum /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif

Oh and i have also notice, although dont know if this means anything.... You know your little monitors on the bottom of your taskbar that light up blue showing you that data is being transfered to load your pages etc.... Well with all other sites it does what its supposed to do and stays fully blue while the pages are loading......But with this site when it actually decides after heaps of refreshes that it will load the page it doesnt look like its sending and recieving properly as it doesnt stay lit up it flickers extremely fast that you almost cant see it happen.

It sped up for a few mintues and was going good and now again i can get into individual threads. Like i can get into the pokie lounge but then not into any of the threads in there...just wont load up or takes forever.

Ok admin i did another huge clean out of cache etc etc and you fixed your end...and now "touch wood" it seems to be back to normal. Thanks for sorting out your end

All of a sudden i went into my c:/ folder and although it says there are 55 objects in there i cant see anything in there. Manually typed on another folder and got same thing. And yes i checked my folder viewing options and everything is set correctly!!!
Also i cant use any of the smiley's here as it says "javascript:viod(0)

Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated as i can no longer get into any of my files on this puter even though they are still there.........and i really dont wanna have to reformat for the 5th time this month /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh and i cant click on any buttons on web pages. like i tried to do an online virus scan because nortons is playing up but when i click on the start scan button nothing happens.
Tried to get help from microsoft website but cant because it wont allow me to click on the buttons to expand threads.

Ann go to a C:\ prompt (command prompt) and issue the command
CD\ <ENTER>
followed by
dir /b > c:\result.txt <ENTER>

then do a
dir <ENTER>
and see if the file result.txt is showing. If it is then email it to me please.

Garry, a couple of things. (and before anyone asks, no, I am not a member of the Pokie Magic team, just a member of the forum).

1. Waiting a little longer than 2 minutes for a response would be a good suggestion.

2. The latest and greatest of each Pokie Magic game is always posted at Pokie Magic Download Page (http://www.pokiemagic.com/downloads.htm) UNLESS the game is in test or under development.

3. Saying the site is "starting to suck" is not the best way to get assistance.

Ok. here we go.

Updating your games is recommended because,
1. after (from memory) about July 20th or thereabouts the old versions will not be able to be registered if you happen to have to reinstall for any reason;

2. the new versions have additional functionality and features just not available in the previous versions


Your problem with Coral Cash having -5 spins since the last feature is THEORETICALLY impossible. It isn't a big deal, at one stage after a new install I had -1458 spins since my last feature. Keep playing, the game resets itself after you get a feature and there are no further problems.

Going to the downloads page (see my previous post) will show you at a glance what are the latest versions of the games.

APpologies to anyone who may be posting to me somewhere...its again taken me 13 minutes to get here so cant get aroudn to read all posts right now.
Hopefully the speed up works admin.....although i dont think its your site because no one else seems to be having this problem. All other sites work fine for me but with this one my puter stops sending and recieving data within a few seconds of trying to open a page. Just seems something i trying to block this site opening for me.

OK heres the deal...ive decided i aint bloody reformatting again!! i've had to do it 6 times in past 2-3 months because of stupid azz rubbish and i aint doing it again!! It takes forever to put all my stuff back on here and its a right pain having to install and re-register PM games and hundreds of others. So im gonna save up for a 2nd hdd (hopefully i can find a cheap 20gig one) and then i can partition 1gig of this current one and tell it to use that as the swap file. Plus put everything on the 2nd hdd so i dont have to put everything on damn disc constantly.

BUT.............i can live with not being able to see my folders/files right now....Can anyone help me fix the javascript problem?? If i put my mouse over any of the smiley's here ready to click em it says "javascript:viod(0)"
and if i click nothing happens! Same as if i try to expand a thread, left sub menu's on other sites etc nothin happens.
if i can fix that i will be happy for a while

Still havent worked out how to fix whatever i did to make my files invisible /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3rofl3.gif but its no biggy, although its a pain in the butt i can still find what i need manually.

I do remember having a clean out of all the crap on my puter and i know i deleted something called...first folder was WSH, inside that was something called SAMPLES, then in there ,there was about10 different files which were javascript files. Not sure if that is what has caused the problem or not....but i musta deleted something to do with javascript.

WOrst part is since this java problem the microsoft update page loads blank..../webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/furious.gif i was gonna try do a explorer update etc and now i cant even do that.

If anyone has any other suggestions or knows anyone i can chat to about javascript problem then that would be great. If not then thanks anyway and i really appreciate everyone trying to help me so far /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/kissing.gif

ann i found this directory on my windows me

Directory of C:\WINDOWS\SAMPLES\WSH

there are 11 files in it with the extentions of .js and .vbs could these be what ya missing.

I did have them on my system til a few days ago so they cant be nothing bad. If it stuffs things up by some chance well im already close to having to reformatt to fix this problem anyway so we may as well give it a go.

Ann, one day when I was at work, a friend came over and offered to help my wife out with some problems our computer was having. By the time he had finished deleting files, I had to reinstall the operating system.

This was quite a few years ago and he is MUCH more knowledgable now, but I still dont let him near my operating systems!!

Deleting files when you dont know what they do is dangerous to your computer's health!!

Unfortunately, I do enough mucking around on my computer to have to reimage it every three or four months....just from installing and uninstalling various programs I want to try out....without anyone else doing it for me!!!!
