Sorry for the delay, I am a very long way from home at the moment, which means delays answering email and posting to this board.

Please provide more information about your "Help menu" showing Santas Surprise. We are not certain exactly what you mean. We will answer your email separately as it appears there is a problem with your order at this end.

Installed software from received cd..no problems
went to step 2 to enter rego numbers but noticed the rego screen had Santa Surprise e.g Coral Draw and all of the others the same rego screen! so when I went to enter the rego numbers for each game it said invalid so I entered the Santa Surprise number and it worked for all of them it can back with a validated message but when I re-started a game e.g. Hearts Desire it was playing SS tunes and did not allowed any features to be played because it was looking for SS flakes! the only game that is not displaying a registration screen and working correctly is Santa Surprise! I am running Win98 so SS has place its help and rego menu on the other games and its music

gotta ask, laurie...

you didn't, by any chance, install all the games to the exact same directory, did you??

Asking because my son (12 yrs old) did exactly that...I thought he knew better.

Like your son I did not think that would cause problems they are 8 different programs and having them in the same directory should not cause problems! and no instructions on this site states otherwise but nothing would surprise me!!thanks for your reply I will give it a go as its the only suggestion I have to date

Oops. just read my original again. Didnt mean to imply you were a dummy or anything. I am a qualified acceptance tester and I tried to teach my son to more than basic computer literate.

quite often, when programmers are creating programs that use the same basic structure (as the pokie magic ones do really....the differences between them at a basic level are not great)... they use the same files and code to save time.

While I cannot comment if the Pokie Magic programmers did this or not (they could) it would make sense.....and installing them all to the one directory would mean only the last installation would have all the correct file access and stuff like that....

Anyway, would be interested to hear how you get on. /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There is a core codeset which runs all Pokie Magic games. There are numerous advantages, best for us (and you) is that it makes updating older games much easier.

Pokie Magic Game Engine II is in parallel development, as mentioned elsewhere on this board. It will provide a superior playing environment, including better graphics scalability for higher screen resolutions. We won't say too much here in case some features are dropped, but registered users will in particular notice improvements in gameplay.

We will move all games to version 14.5 on the final release of Bunny Bucks and Lucky Stars. Version 14.5 will allow you to install all games to one directory if desired without suffering the unfortunate consequences entailed above in earlier versions.

It is difficult to envision all possible end user installation scenarios, so we thank you all for pointing out these anomalies.

Who do you work for Spyone?

Don't do it anymore, Admin... but used to work in Aust Bureau of Stats in their Census area acceptance testing Census software....and spent most of my time being ignored *chuckle*.

Installing all programs to one folder will actually cause problems on any version of Windows. The music files will overwrite other game music files, and if you are using registered versions of our games, you will have trouble with the game insisting its not registered.

Would have saved me a lot of frustration[and maybe others in the future] if this was noted on the letter I received with the disc of programs together with the registration numbers! anyhow the games are worth any hassels one may have

To change the folder you install each game to, you are actually overriding the default setting, which is to install each game to a different directory.

We do not want to "hard lock" the installation folders as this upsets many end users.
