Hi Marlene,

I don't have the VBRUN60SP5.exe on my computer at all and the games had worked. There are some results for the 017F:BFF2DE73 error if you paste that into google.com and search underGROUPS instead of the defaul WEB.

You could also try reinstalling directx 8.1 or go to start then run and type in dxdiag and check through the folders and see if any errors are shown. Sometimes reinstalling windows on top of itself helps.

Of course the programmers at Pokiemagic know more about all this and should be able to suggest something.

Good luck,
Mike

Hi Mike, thankyou for answering. The dxdiag check was o.k. The Google Group was usefull too.. they said it could be a driver conflict.. with the sound/video.. suggests I re-install them... I sure do hope this works... I will get back to you.. thanks again. marlene.

You're welcome, Marlene. Did you go through all those 389 articles in that last thread? Hope not /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif Mike

Support enquiries are being answered more slowly than usual at the moment, due to a large amount of incoming email on many subjects. We do apologise but anticipate this may continue until mid April.

The particular error you have referenced is not due to the presence or lack of a particular DLL file. Pokie Magic games do not require any special external DLL's and as they are not created using Visual Basic, do not require any VBRUN**.DLL files either.

We recommend you update to DirectX 9.0 and also ensure you have the latest video card drivers for your system installed.

Please advise what graphics card you are using.

Hi, thanks for replying in such detail too.!! HOWEVER....the problem is fixed!!! the trouble was a faulty sound card...which was still under warranty, but I decided to scrap the 4 channel and purchase a 6 channel PCI 3D soundcard and it has certainly done the job. I thank you all for your help... it is amazing that there are humans out there that want to help...
my best regards to you all... Marlene /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /webboard/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
