To act upon a dream is fantastic,
To fullfill that dream is bliss

Memories are the greatest gift one can ever receive,
A memory can be good or bad but a memory is the one thing that can never be taken away lost or stolen.
So cherish each memory and always treat them with the diginity they deserve

A lovely little Poem,

Today...I wish you a day of ordinary miracles-

A fresh pot of coffee you didn't have to make yourself.
An unexpected phone call from an old friend.
Green stoplights on your way to work or shop.
I wish you a day of little things to rejoice in...
The fastest line at the grocery store.
A good sing along song on the radio.
Your keys right where you look.

I wish you a day of happiness and perfection-little bite-size
pieces of perfection that give you the funny feeling that someone is
smiling on you, holding you so gently because you are someone special
and rare.
I wish You a day of Peace, Happiness and Joy.

They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour
to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.

My favourite Poem by W.H. Auden

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone.
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone.
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead.
Put crêpe bows round the white necks of the public doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Here I sit lonely bedraggled me
Look at the clock it's quarter to three
Went to bed at ten o'clock clock you see
Tried to sleep I really did
Read my book closed my eyes
Opened my mind up to the skies
Strange things kept rushing in my head
The witching hour came through the door
Walls closed in a little more
By one o'clock clock it came clear to me
This night a log I would not saw
Why oh why just can't I be?
Asleep like those around me
One thirty sees me leave my bed
If I don't I will lose my head
Let's go to the computer instead
Play a game sit and moan and groan
Bleary eyed and all alone
Maybe I should just leave home
Then they would appreciate I was gone
Look at the clock it's ten to four
Can't take very much more
Won't be long I'll be out the door
Lonely crazed and deranged for sure
What wait what's this I see
Bliss o joy can't you see
Someone's just E-mailed me

After all, you can just go home and play our pokies and save all the cash, and at the end of all that saving, you actually have something to show for it.

After a while you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
You learn that love doesnt mean leaning and company doesnt mean security.
You begin to learn that kisses arent contracts and presents arent promises, and you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult, not the grief of a child.
You learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrows ground is too uncertain for plans.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers.
You learn that you really are strong, and you really do have worth.

Sue

Had to put a nice one in for the 400.

May you find serenity and tranquility
in a world you may not always understand.

May the pain you have known
and the conflict you have experienced
give you the strength
to walk through life
facing each new situation
with courage and optimism.

Always know that there are those
whose love and understanding
will always be there,
even when you feel most alone.

May you discover
enough goodness in others
to believe in a world of peace.

May a kind word, a reassuring touch,
a warm smile be yours every day of your life,
and may you give these gifts
as well as receive them.

Remember the sunshine
when the storm seems unending.

Teach love to those who know hate,
and let that love embrace you
as you go into the world.

May the teaching of those you admire
become part of you,
so that you may call upon them.

Remember,
those whose lives you have touched
and who have touched yours
are always a part of you,
even if the encounters were less
than you would have wished.

It is the content of the encounter
that is more important than its' form.

May you not become too concerned
with material matters,
but instead place immeasurable value
on the goodness in your heart.

Find time in each day
to see the beauty and love
in the world around you.

Realize that each person
has limitless abilities,
but each of us
is different in our own way.

What you may feel you lack
in one regard
may be more
than compensated for in another.

What you feel you lack in the present
may become
one of your strengths in the future.

May you see your future as one
filled with promise and possibility.
Learn to view everything
as a worthwhile experience.

May you find enough inner strength
to determine your own worth
by yourself,
and not be dependent
on another's judgments
of your accomplishments.

May you always feel loved.

Spyone1 (Greg)

Spyone1 (Greg)
12-04-2003, 01:10 AM
Found em...

Desiderata. Desiderata. Desiderata.
Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender,
Be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others -
Even the dull and ignorant, they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons - they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter,
For always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career -
However humble, it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs,
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is.
Many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection, neither be cynical about love.
For in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
It is as perenial as the grass.
Take kindly the council of the years,
Gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune,
But do not distress yourself with imaginings -
Many fears are borne of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe.
No less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
No doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God, whatever you conceive him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
Keep peace with your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be careful. Strive to be happy.
