Breaking news this morning with Team vodaphone swapping for the:auto: Colours.
1.Will this mean a mass exodus for the ford followers?
2. Will this mean Miss sue will be after a new spandex outfit?
3. Will bumpy be busy for weeks making these outfits? special mates rates apply of course.
:lmaoblue:
OH WHAT!!
Im gobbsmacked....:3rofl3: sure your smoking funny cigarettes..:3rofl3:

Not even sniffing the coffee tin Miss Sue:3rofl3: Bit of a turn up for the books isnt it. Especially Craig comming back to the fold:grin:
Ah well......probably was a financial decision, in these tough times...wont have any interest in watching now will I...:3rofl3:
Lady Bump

Think its been in negotiation for a while from reading between the lines from comments today. You can always pull on the red spandex :3rofl3:Ive been busy all day sewing:3rofl3:
Oh ok..there would have been a good reason behind it I'd say...its a shame though, well for us blue supporters anyways..:3rofl3:
For me its a bit like the "delete button" action, if you dont like it dont watch it...
Lady Bump
29-07-2009, 08:35 PM
But craig will be still racing you cant just dump him because hes gone back to the red team:3rofl3: Although I did when he turned blue:3rofl3::3rofl3:
Yeah thats right, I couldnt stand him when he was red... I think we are diehards to our individual colour Juie..though we dont know what has transpired behind the scenes....

1.Will this mean a mass exodus for the ford followers?
Not likely - they're not after Lowndes, they're after Whincup!!!
But, got to take the pair if you buy one....
And at the end of the day, it's still the blue ovals leading the way..
Cheers, Peter...

Oh ok..there would have been a good reason behind it ...
More a decision from Holden to add financial $$$$ to the best team, since thay are a privately run outfit and have no official Ford backing as such - Be intersting to see is the blue oval decide to out pay the red mob....
Still think they're after Whincup though....
Cheers, Peter...
Lady Bump

Rumour was that Whincup was off to America a month ago so maybe this deal was sweeter. You would have thought that the F's would have snavelled V up ages ago to keep them [the drivers] in the ranks as its a done deal now so F's have left their run, if any, a bit late and missed out.
On the other hand it shows they arent committed to their brand of car like their followers:!!!icon27
it shows they arent committed to their brand of car like their followers:!!!icon27
Like in the good old days..would never imagine tricky dicky in a red car or brocky in a blue one..:3rofl3: mind you their fans would probably have lynched em if they had of switched colours...:3rofl3:
Lady Bump
30-07-2009, 08:02 AM
Yes and from the reaction Ive seen some of them would like to do it :3rofl3: mainly from the F's I might add:3rofl3: Will leaves that team with no one of outstanding driving ability:3rofl3:
Peter Vic

Will leaves that team with no one of outstanding driving ability
Pretty sure that the team stays as "Team Vodafone" - just running GM cars and a bucket load of cash from GM.. I assume that HRT still exists and TV are still a privately run outfit..
Could be wrong on that though..
Cheers, Peter..

Blue ovals are still leading the way, and if the red brigade pick up a win or two along the way, then it adds to some interest in the series....

Way to go Marcus! thanks for the update Peter..:)
Most welcome - a brief outline below:
Watkins Glen, N.Y. (August 10, 2009) – Following his second career NASCAR Nationwide Series Zippo 200 victory on Saturday, Marcos Ambrose scored his career-best NASCAR Sprint Cup Series finish by crossing the finish line in second-place at Watkins Glen International in his No. 47 Little Debbie® Toyota.

An update on MA....
16/08/2009
Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn.
Ambrose started from 26th in today’s 23rd Sprint Cup race of the season, but could only managed 35th place in the 200-lap event. Ambrose and crew chief Frank Kerr worked all race long at getting the #47 Little Debbie-backed entry of JTG Daugherty Racing to turn better through the corners, with Ambrose continually reporting a ‘tight’ race car (ie: understeer) despite set-up changes during pit stops. In the end Ambrose finished one lap down in 35th place, enough to hold 17th place in the 2009 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series points standings – the highest placed first-year Sprint Cup driver.
Not brilliant, but pretty good none the less....
Cheers, Peter...
For sure..:thumb:
Thanks Peter!

Well, a pretty even weekend with the red brigade picking up a win...
For the Marcus Ambrose fans - he came 3rd at the Bristol 500 today - surprised a lot of the american commentators thinking that he's best suited to road tracks and not oval racing...

Actually, since he's been doing quite well in his 1st full year, he's getting some deserved recognition as a driver.. And he's outpointing a number of F1/Indy stars who've also debuted in the last year or two - some of which are now "reality TV" shows... Montoya for example...

Good race - Pays to be competitive, as racing luck can strike the front runner - Pity for Lowndes and a deflating tyre - car was better than GTs, but mechanical failures happen.. Bodes well for a good Bathurst with both marques on the ball...

Be interesting to see just how well the top drivers could perform in the lesser cars compared to their regular drivers - or the lesser drivers in the better cars...

I love my motor sports and it really doesn't matter the format - NHRA drags thru superbikes, F1, Motogp, rally, V8s, BTCC - doesn't matter - just love things that go fast - always have, always will !
Favorite - Motogp (all classes)

Just one more name for you Sue - Angelle Sampey - NHRA 3 time champion (PSM)
Just crossed my mind - Rachel Splatt (somewhat unfortunate surname) - Top fuel drag racer in Australia, and pretty dammed good at the sport too..!

Gosh you sure do know the sport Peter...I've not heard of those ladies before but well done to them..they must be good to get to the top in a male dominated sport..very must also have very supportive families..

As much as I'd love to see MW do well, he's been plagued by a series of mishaps, poor teams etc over the years, and while he has talent, he is better known for his ability to find a way not to finish a race..
2009 has been a fantastic year for him so far, but looks like things are returning to normal..
Cheers, Peter...
Yes 'thats racing' as they say...seems to cycle that kind of bad luck doesnt it...I remember Craig had a shocker of year one year with one tupr of mechinical failure after another...

Well done to the red brigade - cars were far superior on the day, but have to feel really sorry for the Ritter/Besnard combination - team played the strategy game well with fuel stops, car was as fast as HRT, but got done on safety cars...
Fantastic effort by the part timers though...
Great race, one of the best in years, weather played a big role, safety cars causing 161 laps to condense to a result with 3 laps to go...
I'll be watching next year!
Cheers, Peter...
And great effort by Leanne Tander & co - 7th outright!

Always good racing in the '8s, no matter where they are racing, but I do love the island - been there many times (mainly for the bikes) and it's a sensational track...
Even better when the blue ovals dominate..!
Cheers, Peter...
Oh yes..I have watched the bikes on the island (on tele of course) a few times myself..especially when Mick Doohan reigned..remember that spectacular crash when two bikes went down in similar fashion at the same time one behind the other...The TV station put it to music at one stage and it looked like some weird kind of ballet...it sure is a great track, hope to get to see it live one day!

You're thinking of the double high side crash (almost synchronised) between Pierfrancesco Chilli and Mick Doohan...!

Sounds like me a lot of the time - I too thought that crash was at the island, but "mr. internet" sorted out my mind..!
Jamie Whincup only needs to finish 28th or better in one of the 2 remaining races to claim a back to back V8 championship...
Fair chance he may do just that..!
Go blue oval!
