sticking hot day in paradise today and it didn't help slaving over an over heated oven.
cooked three legs of pork, 48 chicken legs, 3kg of potatoes and 12 eggs for potato salad, boiled enough pasta for the pasta salad to feed 2 armies, made caramel tarts and trifle and in between went shopping for the remainder of the salad items, carted it into work, set up the party room and to the person who complained the Christmas cake isn't home made weellllllllllll kiss my:moon:
tomorrow I have to carve the pork, ham and beef (whooo hooo someone else had to cook that), thaw the prawns, buy the hot chickens, get the fresh bread rolls (and the bread sticks for the person who prefers those with their meal), make the salads, cover the serving trays with foil for the person whos doesnt' think SILVER trays are hygienic, make sure only one caramel tart has cream, give the reformed alcholic his trifle without the sherry, and put aside rumballs for the person who wants to eat them "later".
And when everyone else eats, I get to look after the office 'cause I haven't done any work for the day and finally clean up as I made the mess.
The last thing is make the announcement that Christmas next year is cancelled:hurray::hurray::12cheer::12cheer:
Evening Kat:kissing:gee you've been a very busy girl

Its been pouring here tonight so hopefully by the morning the skys will be drained... see you then:wavey:

This is why it is the final year of catering. Done it for the past 5 years and to those who say its too dear to go out for a meal, I'll be telling them to give a dollar out of their pay each fortnight and put it aside for the Christmas Party. At the moment one of the local restaurants is offering pay for one meal and get the second for $5. The average price of a meal for two people is under $40. Cheap really.
The chefs are trained and if a person doesn't like their meal they can complain to them. AND they don't have to dodge the washing up because its already done for them.
