Pokie Magic supports responsible gambling
Solicitor for Pokie Magic, Bob Owen of FNQ Legal, says his client is a responsible business operating strictly within the confines of the law.
Said Mr Owen. “Unlike other games which allow actual gambling to occur, Pokie Magic designs games where no money can be won or lost. Our client’s intended purchasers are certainly not children as Pokie Magic supports responsible gambling and appropriate parental supervision.” Mr Owen said that the purchase of his client’s games also usually required a credit card and few children would have access to a card to purchase games. “Children are not, and never have been, our client’s target audience” he said.
There are other applications which allow gambling in which money can actually be won or lost instead of simulated games which are for entertainment purposes only.
Mr Owen said that Pokie Magic had withdrawn its iPhone games from the Australian market several days ago. He said that Pokie Magic was a responsible entity which intends for its games to be used responsibly by persons aged 17+ years and under appropriate parental supervision.
